Viola Lessons
Developing a rich sound, strong technique, and confident musicianship.
At Mason School of Music, viola lessons are tailored to each student’s age, experience, and individual goals. Whether beginning the viola for the first time or developing more advanced skills, students receive personalized instruction designed to build a strong technical foundation and encourage steady musical growth.
Students work on essential skills including posture, bow control, intonation, rhythm, shifting, vibrato, and tone production. Special attention is given to developing the warm, resonant sound that makes the viola unique. Repertoire is carefully selected to match each student’s level while encouraging both technical development and musical expression.
Lessons can also support students participating in school orchestras, youth orchestras, auditions, festivals, and solo performances. Our goal is to help each student become a confident, independent musician who enjoys making music and understands the important role of the viola in both solo and ensemble playing.
Online and studio lessons are available for students at a variety of levels.
